Well guys I just got of the phone with Zquadnice got some info on the 1st Gncc of this year.
Zquadnice raced the vet class he was in 3rd and his Quad had fouled a plug during the race.Obviuosly my boy didnt take the time tojet during practice with the Quite core so that was his problems today.
The BIG Suprise is GYII he ran the 29-33 C-class and brought home some Wood today with a 4th place finish.Guess buying a Pro's bike does improvce your riding

Just playing he has been training I bet he's stoked.
Chris Borich Won today with a heated Battle with Ballance, Ballance was actually tagging Chris's bumper in the open section trying to get around him.
Wish I could have went but theres always next time Im sure the guys will have some pics when they get home Monday. They are staying tomorrow cuz we got a friend who is racing the bikes Sunday.
Congrats Guys. Ill be there next time I promise!!!

Every Mo boy wrecked or broke down in Texas :(
Mike Burrows was in 2nd in Pro am and he broke a tie rod
Duane derailed a chain and it broke his case.
Jason Gudde wrecked and or Broke down.
Troy Holmes wrecked he was in like 10th 4st A
Borich does ride for Alba now
What's with those Yami's derailing chains?
That is awesome that Glen got 4th. If he has some luck I think he could win the Iowa B class this year.
Congrats Bob on your finish and good luck in the rest of them.
Sorry to hear that Jerry had some bad luck. He is probaly waiting for Honda to put electric start on the 450R so he can switch over and not have as many problems.

I got suck behind a first turn pile up which resulted in leaving me 2nd to last out of the hole, then worked my way up to an 11th place finish in the 4 STK B class.
I was one the the fortunate MO guys it sound like.
It was a fun ROUGH track.

Feb 15 2005, 07:31 PM
Yup, I got wood!!
It was a brutal track and having a nearly bulletproof machine did help. Especially tireballs/ Hipers as rocky as it was. Smiley actually popped most of his balls and finished third with a flat on his Preddy. He made sure to thank tireballs for that on the podium!!
I also got caught up in traffic right at the beginning. One guy in front of me, one behind with a clear passing lane for everybody else. I used the crap out of the reverse gear on the first lap. I had to wait for Bob once. He came down from a bump on an uphill and grabbed a handful of throttle to nearly roll down the hill, but he saved it somehow.
I was LOVING the power of that GT Thunder 450 on the straights!! :evilgrin I could pass YFZ's fairly easily if I had the line. 8)
The MO boyz are running their home-made steel skid plates that don't have a chain slide/guard and have broken more than one case with chain derailings. Remember Mark Ueilin going for the c-class championship until he threw a chain?
Two Z riders didn't have a very enjoyable day. Stephanie Parton had a problem with her skid plate so they tore off the front part and left the back to protect the sprocket/rotor. Well the front of that caught on a root or a stump and launched her over the bars. She place third. Harlen Foley crashed with another guy and broke the end of the tie-rod right off the stem and still finished 9th overall.
Other highlights: Bob hugged Stephanie Parton

....We walked some of the track with Steph and she told us she runs a stock carb with her Yoshi 450 :wtf She's so cool!! :worship: .....Traci Cecco hung out by our RV for a few minutes while Jerry harrassed Johnny G about some Razr2's...A lady at a gas station asked Ken if he wanted to buy a repossessed RV park.....and one of us (Max) won the super senior class on his KTM bike!! :woo

I forgot to mention that I'm seriously thinking about running the C-class in the Iowa series. My overall finish in the morning class wasn't quite as impressive so it's been on my mind. I may come down to a race-day descision.

:schweet: she was way cool, was fun walking the track with her ....
Glen you sandbagger, your top B class all day long ..... I realy think you will be top ten every race .. c -class will not gain you what you need to learn ... run B :poke:

Hey Glenn and Bob congrats on the finishes.
Glenn you can run with the B class. Guys at the GNCC's are better than in Iowa.
And it was William Yokely that gashed his tire and rode to 3rd place. Smiley got 4th after a horrible start.
I want to go to a GNCC next year wether it be to race or just spectate.

Santo Derisi got 4th and Smiley got 5th :screwy
Glenn the guys are right ya could run B-class but top 10 is that what ya want? If ya raced C ya got a fair shot at winning the whole thing> Its truly up to you there was not to many people in Texas in your class so ya cant use that as a guideline. The course is much rougher too and ya got 50+days yet to train. You make the call I think with your experience ya should run C but thats just my opinion. I just hate to see ya jump to the B and then go chit I'm not doing well and want to go C and then its too late. Ya could race C once and then go he11 yea I smoked them biatches and then make the jump to B
B is going to be tough with Jason , Chris Burrows,Mark Uehlin,Kyle Watson, Ryan Jimenz,Luke Olderbring, These guys all have a lot more experience and will be up there every race.
Anyways ya got along time to think about it were behind ya, Also when it warms up and its not so muddy ya need to come up for the weekend and ride with us. You and Mark could stay in my trailer and we can all go ride> :schweet:
That is a very good point ya have to admit. At least you can always jump up, but cant go down. I guess more competition wouldnt be all that bad...just one more person for me to follow!!

Thanks for the input, everybody. I am on the bubble in experience and I know I can't hang with Uehlin. Other than that, I like to support the guys in the afternoon class any way I can and I'd like to race with Mark Iverson (first year) in the morning.
Like I said, it will be a race day descision unless I can hang with Jason riding with Shawn, Bob, and Jerry. Let me know when it gets fairly dry. I'll be there!! If you can, a day during the week would work better for me. PM me when you guys plan to go.
Maybe the Mason City riding area will open this year. It's actually halfway between Minneapolis and Estherville. It's an old gypsum mine like the 12-hour track was in Ft Dodge.

Gyii, i think u would Dominate the C-class, but i also think u would do very well in the B-Class, but wut ever decision u make u will do good in any that u choose.
i think this year will be great, with all the things ECT that there doing beofe the races, its going to be bad Azz

IMO you wont learn much riding C being out front .... If you ride B you will be in the mix and learn more every race . C riders also dont tend to do the right things when times get tuff and more crashing happens .

whats your advise ? sit at home ......spend all your money on chrome .....make it look pretty ... spend more money on polish .... so on iowas first line up you got a pretty quad ... if you follow suit from last year after the races the quad will have made more flips than laps and you will be so tired because you didnt spend any time riding or practicing ....my bad advise is shine dont make a dime bling dont mean a thing .....Keep polishing, that trophy might be the only one you get this year .......
na just playing
but all true ......
dont worry jerry and I will show up with our dirty quads ....we dont have time to polish were RACING ! You and jason have fun in vagas ... The rest of us will just stay here and practice ..... bri says you need spinners
p.s. Adam landed that 120ft jump! and woodpecered the bars doing so ... and He also had such a desire to compete he would not sit out that race he crashed in Even after I told him he couldnt race without rear brakes ! He is a fast rider ...he just lacks brains ..... :whoa

yea Im busted ..... I wish my wife sponsered me and I could stray home every day ..... im not that lucky ....
jelous nope I build every one of my quads myself ... I laugh at you guys going for builder of the year ...you didnt build squat ! you sent every thing out so other people could build it for you ... you win asembler of the year !
p.s. you herd wronge .... I drove 1/3 of the way there and 1/3 of the way home ... it was jerry and glen who slept the whole way .....
sorry no pit riding for me ... Im going racing ! I'll let you guys go take pictures of each other doing the splits .... (to gay for me )
what are you going to ride ? Im sure you will have to borrow a quad ... yours is to good to get dirty :re

Yea I see ya guys down there
You know I CAN rebuild my own engines to wooter> i rebuild trannys and motors at work all the time. Im sure Ballance, Gust, Yokley, Tim farr can as well so why dont they build there own engine? Oh maybe because a performance shop has done all the R&D and there's no guess work?
Good luck in Superior how many laps are ice races anyways? I bet ya get a lot stamina and endurance from 5-10 laps of ice racing.Your not gaining nothing but a little competetiveness and a hole in your wallet :re

:owned He's got ya there!!!!!!

theres a big differance between a first year B racer and bill ballance ....
p.s. how did that motor you built do ?..... You know the one I told you exsactly what to fix on it and you told me naaaaa it's good I checked it .... BOOM..... :poke:
I just think your going for builder of the year atleast you need to build it yourself ...makes sence dont it ..... throwing a visa at a parts catalog is not building any thing ... hop in the shop and bore some cases ,port some heads, make some long travel a-arms ect .than your building ......
guys like walsh, houser ect are builder of the rear ....
your contest will have nothing to do with tallent ...the end result will be who dedicated the most dollars to the project ....

:re Ok...if you want to get THAT TECHNICAL, I guess you have a point. BUT..........there is still a certain amount of ability to assemble the quad, AND it is his vision and creativeness that designed the whole thing, and made it look like it does, so under your critique, maybe it should be called "Designer Of The Year??" I think its an awesome quad, and he did an awesome job puttin it together. :worship:

Well I deleted all my posts since it was not very professional of me to be arguing and stooping to this level with Bartlett racing on the forums!
I have no clue why he is attacking me the way he is and I would have never expected it from him! As far as Im concerned our friendship is thru and Im not going to let him get to me which is his whole goal!
All tho I will clear a thing up I never rebuilt a engine and it went Boom! The problem was Jerrys X-GF drove it into a River during a race and the river was freezing Cold and the Quad was Hot. You get the Idea!! Besides I was helping Jerry figure out what was wrong and not fixing anything!!!
So Bob I wish Ya Luck in this years race season!
