Im gonna ice race this winter, and I was wondering what you recommend for this type of racing. So far I have a set of rear Chen Shin Ice tires, not studded yet. I also have 2 pair of fairly worn out Dunlop front tires i was planning on studding.
I was thinking of buying:
-wheelspacers (possible reliability issue? but cant afford a-arms or axle. Also ice is smooth so no jumps)
-lowering kit ( i think Dg sells something like this)
I would appreciate any recommendations of tires to stud, what studs to use,(any special tips on studding tires)
I am racing a Lt250r and plan on having a heck of a good time this winter.
Thanks for your intuition.

Thats the rear tires I use with one stud in each nob. I had the 18 inch rears and that is what most people I know use, a few use the larger size on banshees and four strokes. I have seen alot of different front tires used but I use bandits because they have a good flat surface and stiff side walls, they are just a little heavier than others. I have used Dura Blue lowering kits front and rear on both quads I have had and rear wheel spacers. On the front I have used reversed stock front rims to widen it out. A sway bar is also very useful, check ebay if you don't want to buy a new one I found a good deal on a used one when I had my lt250r. Finally with the 18 inch rears on my 89 lt250r I used a one or two more tooth front sprocked and a smaller rear. Try sone diffrent gearing, I liked when I could launch it in first off the start and gearing it up allowed the gears to spread out more so you don't have to shift as soon and often. Have a blast.
