do you still have electric start
S_R_z400
If he still has a Z engine then yes, it still has electric start, as there is no kickstart for a Z...only other way would be to push start and that would be really dumb as you could only be losing about 2lbs.

You can do a kick starter off a DRZ.

Bottom line, they dont make a kickstart for the LT-Z. If they did, a lot of members on here would have already purchased one. A lot of people have searched, and you probably could modify a DRZ kickstart to fit on a Z but not without serious frame mods.

What kind of fram mods would you have to do to put a kick starter in?

im begining to do freestyle on mine, My Z has been flipped into a foam pit though and he would have rode out on dirt it was perfect- that was By Scott Murray not me

I know on the right side where the kick starter would come through, you would have to fab a custom headpipe to wrap around the starter, and the part of the frame where your boots usually touch on the right side would also interfere with a kickstart. Also, the DRZ400 is a dirtbike, which has a rearward kickstart, so it also probably wouldnt clear the fender when you tried to kick start it.

here is one thread, there is a few others that go into further detail, this is the only one I can find at the moment.
