I am in the process of purchasing another z400 and I found a smoking deal on an '03. I know that the 03 frames are weaker than the 04 and up, but with the gusset kit on both are the 03's as strong or are they still inferior. Thanks in advance for your help.

Once it's gussetted, it won't be a problem at all. There's no way I'd run any Z frame (any year) without the gussets, but the '03 with gussets will be just as strong as any other year (with gussets).

Just so you know I did a search on the Bear thread and did not find this question ask. I am however glad to hear this, because the deals on the 03 are great. You can buy an '03 have it gussetted and '05 shocks on it and still be $600 or more better off. I know some other modifications were done but still looks like the way to go to me. Thanks for your imput.

that definately is a good way to go, and by the way that smartazz comment wasn't intended as an insult to you. just kinda a personal joke between normalz and my self!! lol
