So I'm heading to St. George this weekend to go to my cousins wedding, and we'll be staying there a few days. I figure this is a good chance to broaden my Duning horizons (I've only been to Little Sahara). I don't think I'll have time to get to both of them, so if I can only go to one which should It be? Coral Pink, or Sand Hollow?

Personally, I would pick Sand Hollow. Although I have never really been to Coral Pink. I think for the first timer in that area Sand Hollow would be the better choice. It's closer to any decent sized towns (St. George or Hurricane) and still has some decent riding. But after only riding Little Sahara prepare to be disappointed.

I'll be staying in Washington, and my understanding is Sand Hollow is about 15 minutes away and Coral Pink is about an hour away. So if I'm going to do a whole day the distance isn't really an issue.

Anyone like one or the other for some reason? Or should I just do sand hollow because it is closer?

Honestly, I think Sand Hollow would be better for a first time visit to that place. If it gets too hot you can always take a dip in the lake. Gotta love having it go right up to the dunes clap.gif

well i live in hurricane and i like the sand hollow dunes aka hurricane dunes, but i think coral pinks is much more fun, there is a fun wash, and you can do some really steep hill climbs, and last week when i went lots of good jumps. i think coral is more fun but sand hollow you have more people and that is fun to. so just depends on what you want.

Thanks for responding guys. I'll have to do coral pink next time. I wanted to go there, but we went with Sand Hollow because it was closer and we only ended up having a few hours to ride.

Sand Hollow was pretty fun. I got a ticket which sucked. I borrowed my cousins quad for my little brother and didn't realize till the ranger showed up that the registration expired at the beginning of the month.

The area was smaller than I thought it would be. I guess Little Sahara warped my perspective. There were a few good jumps. It was definitely more scenic than Little Sahara. And cruising thru the whoops leading up to the main dune section was pretty fun.

I wouldn't say it was good enough to recommend to someone who lives closer to Little Sahara as the only reason for a trip. But if you are in the St George area anyway like I was, It made for a great couple hours riding.
