I just installed mine yesterday. It was not too bad. I would suggest maybe buying a couple of hose clamps from the local auto parts store.

You will have to modify your stock carb to head boot. I used a dremel. I tried to use the 400EX airboot but it would not work for me so I used the stocker. The stocker is larger than the carb though so you need a clamp there.

It is much easier to install with the gas tank removed.

What throttle cable are you going to use?

Mine fired right up with a 155MJ, 45 PJ, 50 Leak, and 2 turns out on the Zip-Ty fuel screw. My idle is too high though so I am going to throw the 42 PJ in. I absolutely loved the sound.

Also, before you install the carb, I would recommend hooking the fuel line up while the tank is off and checking your AP squirt. Set the AP screw to just touch at WOT, and then measure your squirt. Mine squirts just as the slide raises.

I have not gotten to ride mine yet though because I am waiting on some rims.

Ask questions, tese guys are great on here.

I had more trouble with the airbox to carb boot. I tried the 400EX, but it hit my Elka rezzie line and I couldn't get it to fit. So I took the 400ex boot, cut about 1 inch off of the carb end, and slid it inside my stock airboot and then clamped it real tight. The stock boot is too big for the carb bell.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. If I can do it, I am sure you can. I have not worked on any kind of motor until this. This site and Thumpertalk are awesome with the pictures and instructions.

DRZE boot is a waste of money. It is too short. You will see what I mean.

I've riden my four times now with the FCR and it is nice. The power comes on more like a two smoke. It doesn't wheelie like it did when stock, but it pulls way harder all the way to the top.

I do have a little bog if I go WOT from idle that I need to get rid of, but other than that, Hstead likey.
