I'm looking to get my daughter some paddles for her Z250 and was wondering what size paddle tires you guys would recommend.

20x11x9 stock size but nothing too aggressive. maybe a sandstar or geckos those things eat up power and the 250 just does'nt have that much to begin with.
have you tried stock z400 tires? we run them on my wifes z250 in the sand and they work good.

I would get skat trak gliders. maybe even an 18" since you cant re-gear. thats what I'm gonna get for my gf's z250. gilders in either 18" or 20". if you go 20", get 6 paddle.

I just joined the forum to ask the same question. My daughter has a z250 with 20" sand stars. It does ok until you hit any type of incline. Those tires absolutely kill that quad. Barely enough power to turn them on flat sand.
Was thinking about trying some 20" 6-paddle gliders.

Gliders are the ticket. Anything elso is gonna rob you too much. I had a 20" 6 cup Glider on a 250EX and they worked better than the sand stars I tried. Right now Skat Trac has a smaller carcass for their 20" tires so you'd have a 60 rollout which isn't much bigger than an 18" tire and should work perfect. RMATV should have the best prices on those.

It really matters how heavy your daughter is and how she likes to ride. I had 22-11-10 8 paddle haulers on my wifes 250 ex and she went great. My 10 year old son only weighed 75 lbs and could take it almost anywhere that a z400 would go. My brother bought his 9 year old daughter a 250ex and started her on some used v blades 20-11-10 and she was getting stuck all the time. He put on some 22-11-10 dune runners and he never had to help her again. If your daughter is new to the dunes and takes off slow the bigger tires make a huge difference on keeping here on top and not sinking in. I still run 22" tires on my wifes z400 because she is not aggressive at all when she starts. I know other may not agree with this but tire size is really down to the weight of the rider and the quad to their riding style. All of you guys that ride the dunes with any type of 20" paddle tire know that if you start off in 1st gear at 2000 rpms in loose dry sand your going to sink down and probably get stuck. Do the same with 22-11-10 and you'll stay on top and just ride away.

i used to ride my 250 at the dunes before my z, and i can tell u for a fact to deffinatly NOT go with 22"s. get some sort of 20" tire. i used GBC sand devils on mine because they were light weight and it worked alot better than the 22's i had first
