It's day 2 with the new ltr and it bogging and sputtering consistantly through the rpm range. I checked all the electrical conectors and the filter is clean. No CB airbox lid on but spark arrestor is removed. Anything I can check? I would like to go for a sunday ride!! The bogging and sputtering are only when the mcahine is under load and once in awhile stationary when cracked open from idle. It was also hard starting today.

Ill bet money on the fuel filter in the swirl tank. It happened to me too
Inside the swirl tank (small reservoir attached to the petcock) there is a small fuel filter. This filter needs only to be replaced maybe every six months to a year if you run pump gas. But- with some race fuels, the filter needs to be changed frequently. Some race fuels will dissolve the filter. The symptoms of a bad filter are when the bike inexplicably starts to cut out. Usually in the air off of jumps with a chopped throttle.
I cant remember the exact price of the filter but that o-ring is about 30 bucks so don't lose it!

I fooled around with it for a couple hours yesterday and I got her running good! I had to tape up the two large holes ryan had cut into the airbox lid and put the pea shooter back in! That EFI sure is finicky!! It seems to run well now. It has nothing down low but has lots up top!! It was almost like riding a banshee through the trails yesterday!!

You have the cherrybomb on there? Thats weird, i run mine with no lid and a k&n with the peashooter out, and it pulls like a raped ape! no sputtering at all! So are you back to totally stock now?

Yea ryan removed the CB before i bought it but left the pea shooter out and had two large holes cut into the airbox lid. So with the cherry bomb removed it wasn't running right. So on a hunch i put the pea shooter back in and taped up the holes. it then would start and run ok but at first I was worried!! Ryan says he has a cherry bomb for me

You think it pulls now, put a 13 tooth front sprocket and cherry bomb and try it.
i pull 06 450r's with yoshi rs7, velocity intake and hotcams.
Its insane difference from stock.

My 400 actually pulls way harder than the ltr! It was like riding a banshee! Nothing down low had to really keep it reving to get any power out of her!! I'm hoping the CB cures this!!

deffinatly. even just pulling the spark arrestor is noticaable without the cherrybomb. The only bike round here that has beaten me is a polaris pred with a 600 kit in it. lol
ive raced raptor 700's with cams, yfz, kfx450, nothing has impressed me yet.

This one has been real finiky efi wise. I tried everything to get her to run decent without putting the pea shooter back in but it would just not run decent without it in! Ryan is supposed to drop by tomorrow with some more parts and the Cherry Bomb!!!! I can't wait till Sunday to try her out with the CB in,Lid and pea shooter removed! Hopefully this makes her run the way I imagined she would! We may be going out to Vegreville to the track on sunday. I still have to confirm with others that it's the plan, you should come on out if ya get the chance!

The quad is running great!! It wasn't a race just an open riding day. Weather looks like it's gonna hold for one more weekend!! I hope to make it out to Vegreville next weekend on Sunday for one last track ride if the weather holds!! You should try to make it out!!

haha Ive already got mine put away for the season! Im gonna try to resist the urge to take it out in the snow, lol my last quad got kinda beat up after riding in the snow and letting it melt and such.

Put away for the season?!!! I ride more in the winter than I do in the summer!! The river and creek riding is just way too much fun!!

lol well that what i'm telling myself for now! As soon as the creek freezes over I know I wont be able to resist th urge haha! I put my quad away every year but it always ends up out in the snow haha! I just don't want to ride it during the hunting season.
