not yet sure if I'll be there on the 1st day or it will be the 1st Saturday but i will be there

i can see if i will be able to make it. not sure if my z will be together by then, or time to get the stickers and everything/

I will be there opening weekend April 4 thru April 6!!! Look forward to riding again. I tried to get the Z out last weekend. Even with the 7 paddles it did'nt do so well in the deep snow.

I am taking my son up for the first time this year. I think I am going the second or third weekend. A couple of weeks makes a big difference on weather too.

A couple weeks does make a huge difference.......but we have been doing the opener trip for so long now, it is kind of a tradition. I hope to make 5 or 6 trips in April/May. Once June rolls around the dunes are always beat up and not much fun riding on.

i will be camping up there from the 1st to the 6th... we will be on a red z400 with k&k graphics and a blue raptor with k&k graphics

you guys are nuts to go on opening weekend! I'll be there may 15-18! I'll start a seperate thread about that. I wouldnt mind trying to go opening weekend, but, the weather here wont be nice enough to get my LTR done

Some years are good weather....some are bad!!! Just gotta dress for it!!!! Half the fun is the party that goes on back at the hotel.... being the first weekend they are always pretty relaxed with the rules!!!!! As long as you dont bring any glass bottles around the pool they dont care!!!!! I am starting to get pretty stoked about this trip.....gotta do work on the brother in laws 250r tomorrow. New axle......and pull the cylinder and head. I am going to port it for him and mill and rechamber the head... he is gonna crap his pants when I get it back together, he has never rode anything but that stock 250r. It should fly!!!!!!

sweet! maybe I'll make the trip down. if the weather is good. I'm not driving 7 hours to ride in the rain again I might not have my graphics, and all that stuff on yet though. maybe just the yoshi pipe, pc3, and airbox eliminator. My 6 paddle haulers came in yesterday, so, I'm all set there!

fakie ,did you get different gearing for the sand yet ?

yeah. Picked up a 13t front sprocket. So, it'll be 13-36 gearing with 20" 6 paddle haulers. should be good. I'm only 130lbs with my gear on. I should have no problem with that setup! Everyone seems to run 13-36 gearing. some guys even run the stock 14-36 gearing with 21" paddles.

Anything new with your Z?
I plan on going with my brother on the 5th of april. He also has a YFZ now.

Nope...the Z is was it is.......Building a new big engine for the Drag bike, and putting together a snomo bike. My money is going away quickly...lol!

Both.....The banshee is gonna be a 565cc twister engine. The snomo bike is a little on hold, but it will be a 617cc Rotax engine. I hope to have the snomo bike finished by mid summer. I wanna get the banshee done first. I hope to run in the 3.90's with the banshee.

when you say 3.90's how long of a run is that ,300', 330' 600' ?

The old engine (402cc cheetah) ran consistent mid 4.20's. I just really wanna break into the 3.s....even if it takes me putting the bike back on the bottle. Cataway as stated...it is 300'. You should come out and play with us sometime......but be prepared to get bit by the drag bug!!!!

kinda sorta glad i did not go the first day ,from the pic's i have seen it looked brutal out there. not even 100% sure about day five yet.

I'll be out there from Friday thru Sunday.......worse case scernario.........I hang out in the hotel, by the pool......with a beer in my hand!!!!!. The weather aint looking too bad for the weekend.
