after a short ride to day i found that my fuel screw had backed out ,the only thing keeping it in was that it was setting against the starter , its an after market screw with a knob on it so i dont have to have a special tool to turn it .
i thought maybe i could stretch the spring just enough to hold it in better but no ,that spring is tough .
i reached in to my bag of tricks and found some stick on felt dots ,the kind that is used to keep things from scratching table tops or what ever .
i cut the dot so that it has 2 flat sides and then stuck it on to the fuel screw shaft near the knob , put the screw in to its hole, fits like is was made to be there.
i win

You put the stock o-ring back on there when you changed to the new screw?

its actually the second time it has happened so i was looking for it to happen when i found it backed out ,still it gave me a big PO to see it out like that . my new fix seams to be doing the trick .
ran down the road with the DRZ flywheel on ,i like it . for now the jetting is a 185MJ 48PJ 2 turns out on the FS , it runs very good ,no bog at any time , still, i have to get to a dyno to be sure of the AF ,and I'm very curious to find out if the hp has changed for the better .

With jetting like this, I have a question for you...

What's your float level? Have you measured it? Seems off, if you have to run those jet sizes for your mods. Just an observation, nothing more. Float height affects all jetting circuits, whether it's too low or too high. Looks like it might be having an affect on your jetting...

thanks I'll double check the FL . i have noticed that the way i have the carb mounted the carb
sets at a better angle than some i have seen ,any way i like the way it runs messing with success is like tiring to fix some thing when its not broken, this engine liked the heave side of A/F before with the BSR carb so I'm not to surprised to find it the same way with the FCR.
after being at mixxers and running on his dyno ,and talking with him , he said leave it alone .
any way the date is all but set a date to go to a dyno ,just waiting for a friend to get his new pipe , this guy has a 525 outlaw that i just wasted last time we ran , i guess he hoping a few extra hp will do the trick .any way I'll looking to it for you .
i'm also thinking of tiring a 450r carb on ,just for the heck of it . i would think it would be way more carb than i could possible use ,but thats the fun part . i was also thinking it would be better on that 525 ,the 39 it has now seams kinda small for a 525.

I've never had any problems with my Zip Ty fuel screw backing out. The coil spring, washer, and o-ring should provide enough tension on the screw so it will not move. Those would be the first things I would look at.
