A friend of mine has the oval comp setup on his 05' z400 and I can speak very highly of it in every design factor (db & power gain & cosmetics). He did not open the airbox for obvious riding reasons and it is really a nice setup. I have been considering the RS3 for my 04' DVX400 with stock pipe- at a 100$ diff from comp to rs3, may as well go RS3. Its on motosport for ~640 free shipping. My friends z i speak of is exceptionally nice with a rev box, it just keeps gaining top end, it rides like air with me on it on an xc course (im 260). I just bought front shocks and now I think im getting a rear and an rs3 setup now that i can hold the course.

What obvious reason is there to not take the lid off? Unless he rides in 3 feet of water, no reason to leave it on. Really don't get the full power out of it with the lid on. Might as well just get a slip on.
The RS3 is about 440 new.
I have the RS3, been very happy with it. Can't compare it too anything else. One thing I did to improve on it was take out the quiet core it came with. Much louder now....

It's a great pipe, can't go wrong. don't waste your money on a slip on unless you just want looks. Get the full system now, because you will want it later.

Yosh has always been known as one of the better pipes performance wise. I like to also base my opinions on the fit/finish which aer both excellant with yosh stuff.
I've got most of them on my website, but if theres one you don't see, shoot me an email.

I agree 100 percent. I recently went from running the HMF Ballance Pro full system to the Yoshimura TRC Pro full system and the quality of the pipe, materials, and construction seemed of a much higher standard. You really do get what you pay for.

well this may not be an obvious reason but i had recently bought a K&N air filter and when i rode it around the neighborhood i took the lid off but it was getting too much air intake so i couldn't get any power to go. I have to adjust it or something to be able to ride with the lid off and i don't really wanna do that because it doesn't really matter to me..

You have to rejet when you install the exhaust, so its not any harder to rejet for the lid off. You want it to get more air. That how you get more power.

Ive got a RS3 full system. While I like it I honestly feel my brother's HMF Ballance F/S makes just a bit more power on the bottom end.

I modded an rs3 to my blaster because my cam kit wasnt doing any good without a pipe. So I decided to go with the rs3 because I had one on hondu civica and I ran like a rice eater. So anyways I was happy with the sound output and the amount of backpressure. With the 42 mm honda carb in my blaster it ran good even though the intake valve was all gumed up with dirt since I run a "no air filter" set up. Recently I cut the pipe down to about an inch in length and it just ran like my grandma in a wheelchair. This totally screwed all my exhaust valves over due to lack of cold air and warm air mixing.
