I really want to start racing cross country/XC/ hair scrambles. Is there anything in southern Ontario at all? If not is there any good ones up north? The only one I know about is at Burnt River almost 4 hours away.

Check out CMRC.

I would love it if there was anything around southern Ontario. and so far I can't find anything. Try emailing the CMRC to see if there planning anything. I might try doing the same. I guess the only way they would consider something would be if there is enough public demand for it.

burnt river cross country course is really really rocky. not that fun really, its just too much rock!! i would like to start a cross country race here where i live but the community will never allow it.
Northern-Z
Not many options eh? Geuss I'll have to find some in ny and pa that are less than a days drive away.
joejustjoe
Let me know what you find! I've looked here nd there but there doesn't seem to be anything.

I'd like to try a couple races.

Where are you located?

I'm in Cambridge On.

there is nothing for me in alberta either, nothing within 1000km. closest would be minnesota for me. too bad as there are so many areas that would make for good courses in the hills.

for some reason there are lots of XC for dirt bikes, which seems odd as quad XC looks like much more fun. just like bike MX looks more fun than quad MX. imho.

Suzuki33
cmrc is now offering some sort of trail race, im not sure if its only a few races or a class yet. Waiting for more information from them
Northern-Z
there seems to be lots of harescrambles for the motorcycle guys, http://www.canmocycle.ca/content_frameset....events_calendar I wonder why theres nothing for atvs.

We would encourage teams to have a presence at the races. Uniform ATVs, apparel, tents etc., will attract more sponsors to the team members and the series. Pit together and have a professional display.

A team must register before May 31, 2009. A team entry form is provided and can be e-mailed to wheelsfx@rogers.com . No mid season rider substitutions will be allowed. The success of an individual rider in a single defined class will be tracked.

All race results will be tabulated for overall points through to the last race in the schedule.

I’d just like that thank everyone for attending our pre-banquet meeting as we discussed future 2009 classes and rules. Everything has been noted and implemented as per your guidance. More e-mails with class information and races are to follow. If you have any more questions, please feel free to e-mail me.

This will be put up on facebook as well. It will be put up on the CMRC ATV ONLY group and on mine as a note.

The CMRC ATV website will be launched very shortly! Keep watching

All of these races seem to be MX. I sent CMRC an e-mail asking about cross country or harescramble type racing and never recived a response.

CMRC tried a race similar to the WORCS a couple months ago at burnt river. I was just getting over my broken leg from racing pro am a few months ago and figured i'd give it a try since i was just getting back on the bike and it was awsome. I think it was around 36km or so and consisted of 3 laps through the woods/mx track and fire road. Apparently they might be starting a stand alone series next year so we will just have to wait and see. There was a pretty good turnout which was nice to see.
