alright, I am looking at removing the air box and putting in a K&N style air filter to replace my current one... since this will be a change to the air intake (more air)... will i be running too lean or rich, and i bought the quad from a guy who previously rejetted the carb.. it was tuned to an FMF Slip on...

so should i rejet or not?

yes, you will want to rejet..you will be lean. does it still have the slip on? I would pull the bowl off the carb and see what the jetting is now. There is a chance you don't have to depending on what its at now.

on my gf's quad, I had to put a 22 pilot jet in there with the airbox lid off. the needle and main were from the dynojet kit.

yeah the FMF 4.1 SL Slip on is still on,

i could check...

I also do alot of mudding and sand/gravel riding, so would it be bad to take the air box off? because i would be royally screwed if anything got in the carb...
