I finally went rode this thing tonight for more than 15 minutes like the two only other times its been ridden. Those two times were making some blasts up and down a pipeline to get it jetted correctly. Now on to the story. Keep in mind I have 22" razers, 13t front strocket, and a 39 rear. Me and a buddy decided to go scope out a pipeline in the middle of no where to see if it has any trails and what not. Bout 10 oclock I decided to throw the z (kfx..lol) in the back of the truck and roll out. Well basically we were riding through slush, mud. water and a few ditches. He has a foreman 500 with big ole tires so no prob for him. Now last time I rode in these conditions, it was still a lil 400 and I had to work the clutch alot anf it would die easily. Not the 470. That thing would lug 2nd gear, 1900-2000 rpm through some nasty stuff. The funny thing is I never got stuck. It motored on through whatever I aimed at. I am really impressed with this engine. I had no idea the torque I was gonna gain or I would have done it earlier. I even had the tec insert in so it was quiet, but it does seem to lose quite a bit of power having to breathe through those little holes.
We rode for about 2.5 hours and I never had a hiccup with it.
I did video a little bit of it, but i used my phone so it might not be so good...plus i was driving with one hand and driving through mud holes with the other.
Also the vibration from the stroker crank (not balanced) is actually less than when the engine was a stock bottom end. My carbon fiber gas tank cover used to annoying rattle and it doesnt do it anymore. When I put my anti vibe lonestar stem in its prolly gonna be even better....yipee. So to close...anyone thinking of building a stroker....my advise is Do it. You wont regret it. The bike is so so much easier and nicer to trail ride now. If only suzuki would build this...they would really have a winner.

Did you lighten the piston any>? I removed the ribs on the piston and took metal out in various places. I called cp and they said it was ok to lighten it up a bit. i don't remember how much i removed but i think it was like 15-20 grams. I might put it back down and put a stock wrist pin in to lose more weight because its tapered at the ends and weights about 20 grams less. I'm gonna call cp and ask thier opinion on this.....ha ha...i'm jacking my own thread...o well who cares!

You dont need a helmet at LA Dunes either. I thought about it the other day after we talked and Sandhill ATV in Wiggins, MS would probably be closer for you. Ive never been there though but I heard its a little better then LA Dunes. Probably about an 2 1/2 to 3 hours from me.

IMO sand hill is a good bit better. it has a drag track that they smooth on request. they do want u wearing a helmet on the track but usually its not enforced. the owner is a good guy. the owner of the dunes is an ahole.

Barney is hands down the most unfriendly guy Ive ever met......EVER.

I can never get him to talk other then yes or no answers.

Maybe he's shy. Dont they have cabins at Sandhill to rent? I may see about getting a group together for a weekend ride whenever Im not so damn busy.

Yes they have cabins for rent. Check out the website. Its a nice place, he cooks for you. but you can't night ride. Barney has a concession stand that I have never seen open as long as i have been going. sand hills is open every weekend. I'd rather give hime my money anyday over barney. There is way more parking and room at sandhill.

It will have to be a weekend when one of my buddies is not offshore since he'd be pissed if we went without him.

I'll post some info in the South forum when we go.
