I was wondering those who run these, how well does mud clean out of them? I am ordering a set of knarly's for the rear and cant decide if I want the klaws for the front or if i should just go with a set of Itp Gncc or razors for the front as I know they both clean out very well.

I can say from experience DO NOT buy the standard 4ply Klaw xc's. They SUCK. These tires push in nearly every condition and have soft sidewalls.

The new 6ply klaw fronts are redesigned and are supposed to copy a Razr2(high in the center with deep lugs). I have not tried these in person, but have heard good review about them.

Also, for the Knarlys make sure you get the Knarly XC and NOT the HT. I've had experience with both these tires and the XC is a MUCH better tire than the HT. The HT's are too hard a compound and are too small in diameter. Really all kenda rear tires need more shoulder knob for better bite in the corners, but the Knarly XC's are the best of the bunch.

I have the Kendra klaw 21x 7x 10 on the front with the 20x11x9 Knarley on the rear for a year now. The good: inexpensive and so far have worn very well. Also seems like it made my kfx 400 less tippy. The bad: compared to my son's kfx 450r set up for motocross with 20 inchers up front and 18 inchers in the rear, you can barley tell the difference in the tire size. Even compared to my friends running 21 inch Maxxis Razer 2 up front and 20 inch Razers in the rear, my tire setup looks very small. As a result, I feel I lost a bunch of ground clearance and I know I get hung up on spots I didn't used to. When my son and I switch quads, he says my front has a very numb feeling. I did a very muddy XC race and got stuck a bunch, but the rears did seem to clean out well. I'm going to changing to Razers 2 up front and Razers in the rear. It seems that a lot of people are using that combo for XC racing.

I can't believe this at all. My 20" klaws were huge. In this pic i had 20" razrs on the front

Checked there websites and the kenda klaws are 20.6" tall and the Razr2s are 20.4" tall...(20x11x9)

I don't have Klaws on the rear -I have 20 inch Knarleys, and in a side by side comparison with my friends razrs, not rarzrs2, they are smaller. Maybe they are a lower profile tire. Both he and his wife are running the same setup and my Knarleys are smaller, but I don't know what his Hypers rim size is.

You running the HT sport? Those are only 19.8". Almost an inch shorter then the klaws.
BRAPP
i run klaw xc's front a back and have no complaints. They hook up wayyyy better than a stock tire.
Camaro1976
ok well i have the rear 20" klaws and rear 18" razrs and there is a HUGE difference between them

But which do you like better???
Camaro1976
neither lol. I need 18" klaws
KFXguy2006
Are you keeping the 20" klaws???
Camaro1976
No i had them for sale for a while and sold them to Ben (hackattack) last week for $65 shipped. apparently they had a roofing nail in them though but still hold air icon_neutral.gif
JimboM
Yes, I running the Knarley HTs - that explains why they look smaller.

I have 20" klaw rears, 20" knarly rears, 20" razr rears, 21" klaw fronts, 22" klaw fronts, and 22" razr fronts.

The 21" klaw fronts are tiny and useless for trail riding and are the same size as 20" front mx tires. A member on here told me to buy the 21" klaws and that was a big waste of money.

The 22" klaw fronts are the perfect size for the 20" rear klaw or knarly. The 22" klaws are the same size as the 22" razr fronts. Between the two, I prefer the klaws because the razr's balloon up at high speed and the klaws seem to give better traction all around. Both tires clean out great in the mud and I haven't had either of them clog up.

Do you like the knarlys or the klaws better for the rear? How to the knarlys do on hard pack?

Did you mean a 21" razr front? I physically put a tape measure to my old 22" front Klaws and my 21" Razr2's and they were the same height. 22" Razr2's are VERY large for a 22" tire and actually measure out at around 22.5".

ive noticed that the klaws dont really balloon up, but the razrs do a ton. i have 20" razr mx fronts on right now, and when i was on the road and at maybe about 50 they are probly ballooned atleast about 2"
Gangsta Coupe
How do the GNCC's do as far as ballooning goes?

It's a pretty close call, but I'd probably go with the knarly's, depending on what you ride on. If you don't have an impact gun and can't change the rotation of your rear tires whenever the conditions change, you'd be better off with the knarly's. The knarly's def have more tread depth and seem to give at least as much traction as the klaws.

The down side of the knarly's is that they are prone to punctures because they have VERY LITTLE protection on the corners of the tires. My friend bought these and got a flat on the first ride with them, within the first mile of riding. I was running 2ply holeshots at the time and didn't get a flat and went through the same terrain as him.
Because of this, if you're riding in really rocky areas, I'd go with the klaws simply because they have more puncture resistance.

Another negative about the knarly's is that the tread seems to "chip" away rather than just wear down smoothly. The klaws however wear down normally, but once they wear down much at all, the are pretty much useless on anything but hard packed dirt.

The knarlys work great on hard packed dirt and such, but the klaws might do a little better.

For all around riding, I'd go with the knarly's, but if all you ride is hard packed dirt, I'd get the klaws.

Nope, I ment the 22" razr front. The razr2's are larger than the original razr's, that's why the 21" razr2's seem so much bigger.

Are you running the Knarly HTs? If I do get the knarlys, I'm looking at the XCs. The 21x11x9

Gotcha. I missed that you were talking about the standard razrs. I have no experience with them on the fronts.

Yeah, mine are the standard ones. I would def get the ones that I have over the xc's that are 21".

Here are the ones I have. I think they're the HT's. It's the best pic I could find.

The rear end on that Z ^^^^ looks really narrow. Maybe just the pic.

I can tell you from experience that the Klaw fronts are not good in mud at all, even worse on wet grass. I like some tire slide but, they slide at all the wrong times.
