Hey everyone, I just got my taxes done and I'm getting some summer tires. I have bearclaws on now for the snow/mud but I don't like them for dry dirt.

Well what I am asking is where is the best place to go to get tires? I went on rocky mountain and for the front wheel/tire combo its $328.00 I can't see spending that much on just fronts. Is there a cheaper place to go?
rinehart_mitch
I honestly thing that RMATV is your best bet, just wait till they get the magizenes in with the cupons, either way you look at it the rzr 2's aint cheap and neither are rims

try www.motosport.com

they have a lot of tires.

Try eBay...more specifically Yamaha of Troy on eBay. Get the price on there then call them up and see if they can do any better. A while back they had wheel and tire kits front AND back for like $399 plus shipping...

They had I think a Holeshot Kit with ITP Rims...

If you can't find it, PM me and I'll see if I can dig it up somewhere.

Quick question, what tire last longer and would be better for muddy trails, cornfields, and harescramble. Kenda Klaws or Razr2?

I know search but the price diff is only $40 bucks for the package (razr2) and I wanna get the better ones.

buddy of mine put the kenda's on his ltr, and they burnt off really fast. I would have to say that the razr 2's are tougher compound.
KMGLTZ
i would go with razr2's. mine have lasted a lot longer than my stock tires and they are 6 ply which is a must for me.
BlakeN08
I have razr2s and I love them, they are perfect for trail riding and they seem to be really tough...I don't think you will find the tire/wheel combo much cheaper anywhere else than rmatv just order the fronts and backs seperate then you can use the $20 off coupon twice and you'll get free shipping on both...

edit: scratch that the other coupon codes rmatv just sent me are better deals...
$50 off $300 spent (w2503) or $100 off $500 spent (w2504) so it'd be better to use one of those...
Josh
The price I got was $497.xx, I cant use the $500 one. I need to get something that like 3 dollars. You care if I use it? The $100 off an order of $500?
Josh
I'm going with RMATV and thanks for the input everyone. Blake thanks for the codes.

Blake is that an offer code or certificate? Its telling me the number submitted wasn't a string. Whats that mean? Do I have to call and order?
rinehart_mitch
I like the klaws, i have the 18's but they hook up awsome anywhere, dont think you can go wrong with any of them
slghtr2000
i order all my tires from yamaha of troy on ebay. they are fairly priced and the last set i ordered on wednesday afternoon and had them friday. crazy fast. i had holeshot gncc's and the rears went too fast. a lot of people dont like them, but i run mudlite sp now and love them.
rinehart_mitch
I couldnt stand the mudlites, i had them before this set, hated them, IMO gripped too much, wore to fast, and only did good in mud like it said...
Josh
Bought the RAZRII's front and back with douglas rims and a UNI Filter today for a total of $422.xx. Cant beat that price.

Hopefully I'll have them by Friday, one of my friends is coming up on sunday to ride and hes gonna buy my stock rims and bearclaws for $300 all four. So actually I only paid $122.00 for all four tires, rims and a UNI. No way in hell you can beat that price.
KMGLTZ
good call on getting razr2's, you wont regret it.
Zryder85
I'm in the same place josh was, i cant decide over the klaw's or razrII. I'm more inclined towards the klaws though. Anybody have anything good or bad to say about the klaws. I want to buy these this week. Its the last week RMATV has there special going on. Thanks.
Josh
I rode for about 7 hours on Saturday. Man these tires are great. They hook when you need them to but slide when you want them to.

Did about 9 miles of road too and they show no signs of wear.

Hey Josh what kind of riding do you do? I want a versatile tire b/c i do all around riding. Trails, light mud, rocks, mx track. Thats why i was inclined towards the klaws but it seems to be that the razr 2 are better. can you post a pic of yours?
KMGLTZ
zryder, i would defanatley get the razr2's. they are a little heavy but the are a great tire. You said you ride on rocks, and the razr2's are 6-ply, so they are a lot more durable than most tires.

Like josh said its like a 40 dollar difference between the Razr2 and kenda klaw. So the razr2 just might be better. I'm also going to be getting some black bajas. the only thing i liked about the klaws was that they were reversible.
Josh
Yea they are reversable but the Razr2s are great for everything with the one direction pattern. Plus its a hassle to switch back and forth.

If you are just a leisure trail rider and the trails arent all hard pack or all mud you can't set them in one direction and do good for the whole day, just in some spots.

I ride on almost everything. My riding area consist of Big rocks to small gravel, mud to hard pack, corn fields, roads, train tracks, tall grass fields, rivers 30' wide and 2' deep to streams 2' wide and 6" deep.

Heres something to help ya out, My stock Z (other than a Full alba exhaust, EX boot, 13T front, and open lid) with the Razr2's was outperforming my friends 07 400ex with a 426BBK, Intake, Jetted, Full Big Gun exhaust, smaller front sprocket.

He was running Holeshot HD's and couldn't get traction (whats that say about Holeshots?). I was just blowing him away on the roads and trails. And he said, damn those things are fast as shyt for being stock. Haha.

I love them and I am going to run these from now on.

On one of the trails I never rode before I hit an arrow laying on the ground (didn't see it) when I got back to the road I seen it stickng out of one of the side lugs. It was only able to go half way through. Tough tires.

And My frien who is using my old Bearclaws got stuck in the mud, I pulled up in front of him, got my ratchet strap out from under the seat, hooked them together, and in the same mud he got stuck in I was pulling him out without a problem with traction.

The Razrs are head and shoulders a better tire than the klaws. If you can afford them get the Razrs, if not they Kendas are not a "bad" tire, they're just not as good as the Maxxis.

I think i'm gonna go ahead and get the razr2 with some baja wheels. I think that after the 50 bucks off i will only pay $310 for the tire and wheels combo. Or i may just go ahead and get all 4 tires havent made my mine up. Thanks for the info everybody.
KFXguy2006
I just got a set of Kenda Knarly XCs. Will be taking them out for the first time this weekend, so I will let you know how they do. I got them from rocky for $105 shipped.
Zryder85
I just mounted up my Razr2's today and gosh are those tires meaty. I'll be trying them out this weekend. Next on the list Black itp bajas for the rear.
Josh
Yea I said the same thing when I got mine from UPS. They are a little slippery when wet, but I only knoticed that on concrete/asphalt. Never had a problem in wet/muddy trails or gravel.
