I recently replaced my chain and sprockets and went to a 13/40 combo but it seems more sluggish now compared to my stock 14/40...anyone have any ideas? I bought JT sprockets and 520 SRX Gold O ring chain. Please Help?

I switched mine to this in the past and had no problems. If it is sluggish I would look to other things you have done recently. A chain and sprocket change will not cause the problem your having.

i dont know about coming off the line faster but it does give you more low end tourqe. on another hand you do rev out faster in first gear a lot. Maybe since you are going through first gear faster it seems like its more sluggish. I run trails so i need more lowend i rarley ever hit 5th gear.

I actually didn't like 13/40 trail riding. I would hit the rev limiter every time in first and second and drove me nuts. I actually though 14 was a better fit and seemed to be a bit faster. Obviously topend wise but overall up through the gears. This year I'm going to switch between the two on the same ride and see side by side.

Shifting through first and second a lot with the 13T shouldn't happen. With the 13T front you almost never have to go down into first unless you are at a dead stop.
Since I put my 13T on I almost never put it in first, always start in second. The only time it goes into first is when I need to use my reverse.
