Had instructions on which wires to splice a Tusk Kill switch into directly to the harness but can't find them..need to install a normally closed Tusk Kill Switch on my 06 z400...thanks guys!

wire tether to the orange and orange/white wires. then you will be good to go. it dont matter which wire goes where

Didn't work? Quad ran with or without tether when I spliced these wires...any suggestions?

you see up there at the engine stop switch?

it has the solid orange wire and the orange/white wire? that is the wires you want to connect to.

That's what I did...done it on my 03 and a few other quads before but not working on this one???

try switching the wires you connected to..this happened to my friend the other day

I wasnt there when he did it and have NO idea why it would make a difference but apparently it worked! And he was having the same thing..the clip made no difference in or out

ok I tried switching the wires and same deal...well kind of...what it does now is works only when the swtich is set to off...on all my other quads I used to be able to kill the engine via the run/off switch and the kill switch...any ideas?

oh so you still have the engine stop switch? in that case wire the switch into either the orange or the orange/white wire.

do you get what im saying? instead of wiring it to the orange AND orange/white, just splice it into one of them. that way your kill switch will kill it and the engine stop switch will kill it.

i know what is happening. the switch and the engine stop button are wired in parallel and you want them wired in series. you can check this to see if im right. take the clip off the tether and hit the stop button- it should stop, you can put the clip back on the tether and hold the engine stop button down then pull the tether and it should stop.

When I do that either to orange or orange white with both wires it does not work at all

do you still have your blob? something about that sop switch must be screwing with the tether. try to wire in just the tether and leave the engine stop switch unhooked. if that works just use your key to turn the quad off

Doesn't make any sense...I have done this a million times and never had a problem like this
