Hey guys here are a few pics of my Z. Some are riding pics and others of how it stands as of now. I just installed my HDUSA +2 arms, and RTC scoops. Not too long ago i cleaned up the bars and installed some ODI grips put Razr 2's all around and put a grab bar. I'm saving up to get my shocks converted and I'm looking for some wheels and tires for the track.

Comin along nicely man, I like those scoops! If ya are planin on doin MX i would plan on gettin some bars for saftey reasons so they dont snap and hurt ya... comin along nicley, one thing at a time!

Thanks for the comments. Bars are in the works mitch. Saving up to get the tusk fat bar clamps and a set of pro tapers. I also want to shave my front fenders but dont know what cut I want yet. One thing at a time, you're right. This hobby is expensive.

I have a few more updates. I recently took the plunge and bought the Douglas champion in a box kit. I also bought some front maxxis razr cross tires and some used klaws. Next on my list is getting my shocks rebuilt/converted and will be getting some new bars and a set razr mx for the rear.

that is SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooo nice, i love that set up man, its starting to come along really nicely, a setta bars, an axle and maybe a few small motor mods and that thing will be SWeeet! Lemme know how you like the fronts as soon as you ride them out on the track the first time! I think i am going to get the rzr cross front and mx rears and the end of the season...

Looks WAY good. You were right about my scoops looking HUGE compared to yours with full fenders vs my Lakers. Coming together nicely.


ETA: Mitch those are RTC scoops. If Im not mistaken they arent made anymore.

CMC, i love the HDUSA arms, only complaint is the cheasy tie rods...

Mitch yourad is correct they dont make the scoops anymore. I was able to get mine off captain uno when he was parting out his quad. I'll give you a ride report on the tires as soon as i can, i should be riding this sunday.

cmcelroy09 so far the arms have been good, no problems. Some way some how i havent bent the tie rods like mitch yet. I weight about 190 geared up on stock shocks and i have bottemed out a few times while jumping.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I have 3 sets of mud plugs blue, black and dwt plugs. I know i'm going to put the suzuki "S" sticker on the blue ones, anyone have an idea for the blacks? I was thinking a fox head.

Stupid question but in the Post your Pics thread a couple months ago did you post a pic from a stock show?

The reason why mine are bent is cause the tie rode end broke, and acted as a javelin, i bent it back best i could till i can afford new ones... But still, who makes an aftermarket tie rod thats hollow?

I think its funny that alot of us in this forum prefer monster over rockstar who is part of the suzuki team. Personally i like the taste of monster over rockstar. I had thought about monster stickers too.

Ok Guys have a few more updates. Well i bought a set of 450r shocks and sent them off to Johnny Hale at JH Racing to get them revalved and resprung. I have tripple rate fronts and a dual rate stock rear. I also went ahead and bought me some new rubber for the rear. I got some yellow label razr mx. I didnt have a chance to try it out at the track yet but i will this weekend.

If ya dont mind me askin, how much did ya sepend on your fronts? I was lookin into JET cause the "specialize" in 450r shocks with triplle rate springs...

Whats the diff with yellow lable rear tires?

hahaha, Mitch i was waiting on the bar comment you are the only one that gives me grief about them. I spent $575 on all three but i didnt get a link for the rear. I've got tripple rate and dual rate with zps so it still lowered the quad alot. I think all 3 for the honda is a bit more expensive because he has a link for the rear. I've been reading alot about jet motorsports and it seems like they do a great job. I went with JH racing because alot of people here in north Texas told me to go with him. Everybody seems to be really happy with his work. Look him up in the 450r.org site i saw you are on there already. Or give him a call he will answer any questions you have for him. Johnny races a honda so he has alot of honda knowledge. Yellow label are a 2 ply tire and are know to have better traction. I think this is what the pro are running. The fender cut is on its way also. I still dont know what i want.

What is ZPS? everyone talks bout it but idk what it is. Also whats the dual rate rear spring for?

Nick is correct, his conversions are the only ones that are tripple rate and are adjustable ride height just like stockers. ZPS means zero preload. All zps does is take the pre load of the shock to lower the ride height. Thats the way is was explained to me. Read this it should help you. ZPS Explanation

Yea I have an axle coming as soon as i get the money for it along with some bars. and that will be it. I'm really not planning on beefing up the motor or anything like that. I will ride this for about a year and get alot of practice then i will be going after a ltr450. How do you like your? how is it on the track?


KMGLTZ, those tires are great they are good in turns too. Alot of people i know are running them now. I know a guy that runs them in the rear too and he says he likes them. He switches between those and razr mx.

When it comes to the track, I don't think you can beat the LT-R out of the box. The motor is dropped down into the frame, handles like its on rails, shocks are awesome for stock suspension, and it only takes 40 dollars to be making some respectable horsepower.

For regular riding though, I would still prefer a Z in a way, but I love my LT-R, no complaints with it. Just make sure you get a good name brand air filter, don't get a knock off K&N like a velocity or something, the LT-R comes stock with titanium valves, and they are very sensitive to even the smallest of particles.
