If i found a set of front shocks and a arms from a ltr450 will they bolt up to my 03 ltz400? I know they are wider and thats what i want. What about just the a-arms and keeping my z400 shocks? Thanks again!

Well then post a link. Because i searched and searched again and have not found an answer to my question. Just because i am new here does not mean i'm new to forums. Thanks bud

Look at my sig, LTR shocks fit, the arms dont, If a mod comes in here, can we make a pinned something for the shocks that fit and dont fir the Z? I know tom and i have gone over this alreay?

I'm still waiting on information from a guy on the YFZ parts. Once I get that, it's done.

I gotta go with the OP on the search feature.
Half the time when I search for stuff, even when I know the name of the post it won't show up.

You guys need to learn how to use the advanced search features!

Tom, even if you get the YFZ ones to fit it would lower it a TON... what else do you need to know?
zophar
Talking about YFZ arms?
The shocks take some modding I know, but what other part would you be talking about...

I've used the advanced search too. Looking for posts from a year or two ago.
I can put in the exact title and who posted it and I'll have to sift through 10 pages before I find it.

if you know who posted it then just click title only for the search

Are you using quotation marks? If you do not use the quotes, it searches for any combination of the words. Such as a-arm and LTR.

Here is what I did.

Search, more search options, "LTR A-Arms"

That would be the problem..
Thanks Dan

Wow.. I feel dumb now mhihi.gif

No, there's no way in hell that the a-arms will "bolt up." Not gonna happen. There's the answer, in short.

YFZ shock dimensions - like the guy told me he'd give me. Static length (off the quad, no weight on them), upper eye mounting width, lower eye mounting width.

I've got the numbers for LTR shocks, LTZ shocks, 250R shocks, 450R shocks.

If someone wants to throw in KFX450R shocks, cool. I don't think they mount up for a chit, though. I've got all the other numbers.

I'm not doing chit until the guy sends me the info - like he said he would. Until then - it's on HIM. Not on me...

yfz shocks are like 16.5''or 16'' I know for a fact they are shorter than the stock z but not 100% sure on how much..I just know I wouldnt use them.

Glad it worked for you. The search features are not the best. But they do work!

That's why I'm waiting on the guy that has YFZ shocks at his disposal - I'm not taking an estimated number from anybody.

For the other guys asking questions... I'm taking about shock data. Shocks. Not A-arms.

There's a guy on here that wanted to know if YFZ shocks would fit, and he had some he could try. I told him to try it and get the measurements, and he said he would. Trying it is the only way to find out. I only asked for the measurements from him so I could post up the shock data in a pinned thread that everyone keeps asking about.

I HAVE the following shocks, right here in my garage: LTR, LTZ, 250R, 450R. Those shocks all fit the LTZ, in one way or another. Somebody says YFZ shocks fit, but nobody is gettin' the numbers up here - get me the numbers, and I'll make the pinned thread. Once I get that data, it's done. Without that data, it's not gonna be done.

I can run over to my neighbors house sometime later when they get back in town to see its goin to be a week or two though... I know the uppers take alotta grinding to fit if we wanted to cause we tried to put them on my friends 03 Z and there wasent a chance....
NormalZ
They need to be bone stock shocks, untouched. I need the length of the shock, off the bike, at full extension. I also need upper eye mounting width with the bushing in place (stock), and the lower eye width, same criteria. Otherwise, it's not much good at all.

I know they don't bolt up, and so do several other people, like you. The questions still come up all the time about them though. If I've got those numbers, and they're posted, then people can do their own measurements and figure out if they want to jump into it or not, and modify the shocks to fit, or not.

Yeah, I know for a fact they are short. I put a J-arm to YFZ A-arm conversion kit on my buddys banshee and we tossed the yfz shocks on just to see and it sat really low. We ended up grabbing my stock Z shocks to put on. But we couldnt get those to fit without grinding a 1/4 off the bottom shock mount just to be able to swing the shock into the mount. Someone should post on yfz central to get a quick response of the length.

If you've still got access to those YFZ shocks, can you get the measurements I need? That's all I need to wrap that post up. Lemme know, man...

Sorry I cant, he sold them about a year ago right after we did the conversion. I will put a post up on yfz central.
