ok guys i need your help its to dark to see now so maybe someone can help me so it doesnt drive me nuts all night ok heres what happened i was riden and went up a pretty steep hill with a step up and as i hit the step up the chain poped off again and here i go rollin backwards well got it to stop and went to put the chain on and its all bound up around the front sproket and the case saver well i had to start it put it in reverse to get the chain to back off a lil and noticed oil around the top of the clutch lever on the motor thought no big deal put chain on and ride about 1000yards away to my house and look at it the whole top of the motor covered in oil now and dripping so i restart it and see oil just pushin up outta the clutch lever thing like im jed clampet or something thought i poped a hole in the case so i took the case saver off and see no hole even though its all oily and kinda dark so what could be my problem guys thanks for any help and sorry for the long story

there has to be a hole there some where. ive had 2 friends do the same thing and it almost always busts a hole in the case or breaks some thing. it might be behind the sprocket. that sucks dude. sorry.

Yes, you broke your case. Suck bad. Clean it real good see what kinda of damage you did. If it's small enough, you can JB Weld it, but make sure there are no shavings inside. Other than that if it's a gaping gash, ouch!

well sounds like i may be looking for some cases so if anyone has any cheap please let me know ill get her cleaned up and take some more stuff off tomorow but i swear that the oil is coming straight up outa the clutch lever tube so ill find out tomorow hope its not bad and i just replaced the timming chain too this sucks

Mine did the same thing. Chain popped off will I was sliding in the snow and jammed up in the front sprocket. Hit it in reverse to brake it loose and the oil pour right out. right where the clutch rod gos up and down behind the sprocket. Cleaned it up good and JB Welded it. Still holding, 4yrs-5yrs Sold it to my buddy.

both of my friends got away with using JBweld. you might be lucky enough to do it too.

pics? if its by the clutch lever on top of the case then you might have popped out the seal

I don't know about the rest of you but when I threw the chain and busted my case I also shattered one of the dog engagement rings.

I feel lucky then. mine popped of and got bunched up, had to put it in reverse to unbunch..but no busted case...knock on wood!

I didn't knock enough! My chain popped and bunched up twice on a ride and I still rode hard. Later that night I had to run it about 70ft to the truck and it bunched and cracked it. Should of tighted it.

Found it i took the lil screw and plate off da clutch rod and when the chain bunched up it pused the case saver up and smashed the aluminum around da lever flat so it had a gap in the seal so i poped da seal out and took a pair of pliers and straightened it out but 2 lil pieces broke so when i put the new seal in ima put a lil gasket maker or something on it too so hopefuly it dnt leak thanks for the help
