Ok, so right away your thinking search, right! lol! ok, so i know all about the common water pump problems, been there and done that I think 3 times! I cant get the water to stop leaking from the weep hole. Its not mixing the oil and anti-freeze, i dont think. I just cant stop it from coming out the weep hole? The first time I just replaced the seal that lets the water out the hole, didn't work!step 2, I replaced all gaskets, seals that is recomended, still leaking slow! gr! step 3, replaced everything again and had the local shop press in the one seal, used some three bond on the one seal like it is supossed to be done, even put in a pro desighn impeller, and assembled it! STILL leaking, just verry slow! After all this, I just ran it for like a year, and it just dripped here and there, no biggie! Now that i installed the big bore kit, I looked down and its pissin out again, Looked the next time i started it and nothing? Whats going on? By the way slow leak is like 4oz over 10 hours over the year! Its worse now! also after the third time of it leaking I Had the top end rebiult to stock, rings, valve guides, and gaskets incase the head gasket was leaking and causing pressure in the water system, no change? Any ideas or is this thing haunted?
ps. I use engine ice, the fan cycles on and off like normal,Over temp light works, and there seens to be no overheating problems. I only overheated once because the radiator was full of dry clay from a mud hole!

It sounds like the main inner seal is leaking. there is a write up on rebuilding the water pump. i used it for gettin all the part numbers. works great. no leaks. i use engine ice too. great stuff.

It has to be something making that inner seal leak??? Is there anything that could be causing excess pressure?

does it has a groove worn ito the shaft? maybe a stupid question, but did you lube the seals with anything when you rebuilt it or did you install them dry?

The stocker had a small groove, the dealer said he didnt think it was going to make a diffarance,it was verry small but, that was rebuid #2. The third time was when i put the pro desighn one in for that reason. Both 2nd and 3rd time, three bond was put on the back side of the seal, just a small amount, they said that it helps to get a good seal. build #2 I tapped the seal in and the third time the dealer used there press, i didnt use ank find of grease, I dont know what they did. The 3rd time was all the suzuki machanic and this shop does a lot of work on the local rece z400 so they should have done it right. thats why i justn dont get it? good guess on the grove though!!! Also on an update last time i had it out it was leaking really bad, today i started it up to make sure it was cooming from the weep hole and got nothing, its gone again, and yes i got it up to temp, fan cycled 4-5 times, and i drove it and got on the gas???

i'm figuring in 1 or two of your rebuilds the seals werent lubed and were ran dry which damaged them. then theres the groove. maybe this go round you got a bad seal or isnt installed perfectly straight? are you using factory zuki seals? from what i remeber its not hard to get the seal crooked. other than that i dunno....
