So the quad is now running pretty darn good with the FCR but it just seems wierd the way it is set-up. Here's how it is now.

185 main
45 pilot
OCEM N needle 1st clip
Fuel screw 2.5
air screw 1/4 turn (this is the one behind the bell.....this is like a sparks carb and the bell comes off and there are two jets).

It just seems weird to me to have the needle on the first clip.
Moving to the first clip did alot to help and then opening the fuel screw more after that really smoothed things out.

If I go down on the main would that possibly move the needle up some?
What about opening that air screw up some more?
Looking for some guys with experience with these carbs.

Thanks

i am running a 175 3rd clip and a 45 slow jet. and leak jet is pluged. and 3 turns on the fuel screw. i also have a tusk screw.

Mine don't have a leak jet.
What kind of altitude are you at?

I am taking it out in the morning to play with the tuning a little. I can't run it up and down my street anymore nono.gif
I'm leaning towards trying the 175 again......then messing with the needle.
Do you have one of the air screws (it's a jet with a spring in the hole) in the intake side of the carb?

yea mine has an air screw but i never touched it.. im am maybe 1000ft above sea level.

You might try a 170 main and raise your needle up 2 slots and start with your slow air jet at 1/1/2 turns out from seat.
If you want expert advice, pm Normal Z. He helped me get mine dialed. clap.gif bowdown.gif

I just got back and I tried all the way down to a 165. Tried the needle on 2nd and 3rd clip and that always made it worse. It really seemed to run it's best with it tuned the way I have it listed above. Pretty darn good off throttle but mid range stumbles a bit then it opens up.
I did not touch the fuel screw. It is idling perfect and I really don't have any bog off idle.

I am going to try opening up the slow air jet with the needle raised to the 3rd slot.
